What to Expect at your Pet Wellness Exam

Dr. Ponder begins each wellness house call with a comprehensive review of your pet’s overall health. This conversation can take place in our fully-equipped mobile clinic or in the privacy of your own home.

Operating a mobile veterinary unit gives our team the flexibility to deliver holistic health care in a pet-friendly environment. It’s important to us that your dog or cat is comfortable and open to receiving treatment. Our friendly house calls reduce pet anxiety and let us get to know each other better in a stress-free space.

Pet Wellness Exam

Our pet health and wellness care exam includes a full physical check-up:

  • Vaccination review—initial vaccinations and ongoing shots as required.
  • Eyes and ears—treat ear infections and check for vision problems such as redness, inflammation, and cloudiness.
  • Heart health—Routine physical exams can help to diagnose potential heart conditions in your pet.
  • Parasite control—Fleas, ticks, and mosquitos can cause serious harm to your pet and your family. Parasite control is necessary to prevent transmission of disease and keep your pet healthy and safe indoors and outdoors.
  • Nutritional counseling—We cover several topics including pet obesity, exercise/weight control, quality food sources, and the nutritional needs of older animals.

We also examine your pet’s coat, fur, and skin to check for any dermatological conditions. And as always, we answer all your questions to make sure you are fully satisfied after the wellness exam and have no medical concerns regarding the health of your four-legged friend.
